Associate

As an Associate at Globespan, Steve supports deal sourcing, evaluation of investment opportunities, due diligence, and portfolio company assistance. Based in Boston, Steve brings expertise in strategic analysis and a passion for technology to help the firm’s entrepreneurs succeed.

Prior to joining Globespan, Steve was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company in New York, where he advised clients in the enterprise software, financial services, consumer electronics, and retail industries on a variety of strategic issues, including M&A, Internet strategy, revenue growth, and product development.  Steve also worked in Bain’s private equity group performing due diligence on potential buyout targets.

Steve’s interest in technology and entrepreneurship began at an early age. In high school, he founded Meyer Media, an Internet media company involved in developing, managing, and monetizing a network of websites in free content verticals such as education, web publishing, and entertainment. In college, after growing the network organically, he made a series of investments to acquire and grow other established web properties, a valuable experience that he still draws upon when evaluating potential investments at Globespan.

Steve graduated from Duke University with a BA in Public Policy Studies and a Certificate in Markets and Management (with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.) At Duke, in addition to continuing to grow his internet business, he also held various executive positions, including CEO, in a student-owned delivery management company for local restaurants.

Steve is a co-founder and a current board member of Duke Venture Forward, an entrepreneurship incubator and career mentoring non-profit for business-oriented students. He is also a member of Echoing Green’s Social Investment Council and was a 2008 Fellow at the StartingBloc Institute for Social Innovation.

Beyond his active involvement in both the entrepreneurial and non-profit communities, Steve pursues a wide range of interests including adventure travel, skiing, golf, and building his music collection.
